TwinCAT Virtual Serial COM Driver
The TwinCAT Virtual Serial COM Driver software library connects one or more EL60xx EtherCAT Terminals or EP6002 EtherCAT Box modules as normal serial interfaces (“COMx”) in Windows CE or Windows XP. Configuration takes place in the TwinCAT System Manager, wherein it is defined for each EL60xx/EP6002 whether or not and on which computer a serial interface should be created for it. Access to the device connected to the terminal takes place via Windows API for serial interfaces. This way, even existing Windows applications can be used to read data via an EL60xx/EP6002 from devices with serial interfaces, such as bar code scanners.
